Have you tried the lever on the right side of the machine? It may be the stitch length adjuster. It is similar to the one on my old singer.

it didn't do anything, but now that she is lubed up more, i will try it now....

On one of my vintage machines you twist the end of the lever and it will allow the lever to move up and down more, lengthening the stitch. Have fun! What did you use to clean her up?

I had the same idea. The lever is the stitch length adjuster. Move it in small increments and try your stitches.
