Here's the pic I promised. I am so excited. It has a couple problems, but I'm gonna call my dealer in the morning. I'm not stressing really just want to really play. He told me to call over the weekend if I needed him, but I don't like to bug people on days off.

Thanks for letting me share with all of you. I have been on this board for awhile now and always have a good time and get great help/feedback. I live in a rural area and I am a homebody other than work. So its great to have people with a common passion.

Oh. I just have the 5 foot poles right now. He's still has to get the 10 foot leaders and poles for me.

Lucky you! I play with the idea--but still have to master FMQ on my domestic machine!

quiltingfan 02-20-2011 03:55 PM

Someday I also will have one but we don't have the room or the money for one at the moment. I hope you enjoy playing on your new toy. Do you have a lot of tops that need quilting?

harvsstuff 02-20-2011 03:56 PM

I was curious what a tin lizzie was, now I know. Good for you, have fun and play.

katier825 02-20-2011 03:57 PM

How exciting! I wish I had one to play with!

OMG! Ha ha ha ho ho ho he he he! Sorry but that makes me laugh. I have at least 6 that have borders om and backing fabric bought. 3 that have blocks done and putting rows together and a couple I found the other day I forgot about and 1 that I am still piecing. So yeah, a couple.

This is for my personal use. I will do some for friends and word of mouth but I don't want it to be a business. And maybe some during this time of year when work is slow and I am laid off.

How fun!!! I hope you have a great time with her!

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. It is so much fun. When I got mine they told me to use Sew Fine thead in the bobbin and King Tut on top and not to use polyester batting. I really thought it was because that's what the dealer sold, can't find it anywhere else and its really expensive. Did your dealer tell you that too?

I had tension problems and problems with the thread breaking.

Enjoy, I know you'll love it.

A wire on my encoder is messed up no big deal there. But the manual mode thing is gonna need some professional attention.

As far as thread, he said the superior/king tut is really good, but he uses anything pretty much.

i was having trouble to with thread breaking, than i started using Gutermann and have had good luck with it, i buy a spool of it when i get a coupon for 40 to 50 % off, realy helps on the price. i use it in the bobbin to. i find i will break thread when i quilt from right to left moves.

The people in the Tin Lizzie office are super helpful. I had a few minor problems when I first got mine and they were quick to help.

knlsmith 02-21-2011 10:11 AM

Woo hooo! The encoder cable was the culprit and he had one on hand. Oh boy oh boy!

I had the same problem happen to mine shortly after i got it and I got it replaced. In the meantime, I finished a quilt in Manual mode. I did not like doing that as I found it hard to focus on both my design and my speed at the same time. I have only had my long arm a few months and had a stitch regulator on my Bernina machine--so I am used to having the stitch regulator.

knlsmith 03-16-2011 08:16 AM

I use manual mode a lot. never used a regulator before I got this machine, but I do love it for big round designs and traveling long distances. The manual is great for tiny stuff.

bamamama,
I have a tin lizzie and that is the thread I use, king tut on top and so fine in bobbin.
I buy my thread from Superior Threads. Very nice people.
