I'm grateful for the 6600 because when it came out some people swapped up from the 6500. I scooped up a used 6500 so quick that I didn't even stop to look at what options the 6600 had that the 6500 didn't.

janiesews 02-06-2011 05:58 AM

Have lots of fun!

bamamama 02-06-2011 06:00 AM

I also have a Janome 1600P and a mini-Janome. You will LOVE it!

What is the biggest size quilt that you can sew on your machine?

craftymatt2 02-06-2011 07:16 AM

WOW, very very nice, have lots of fun playing.

Mariposa 02-06-2011 07:26 AM

Congrats on your new machine! What's her name? :)

Moon Holiday 02-06-2011 07:32 AM

Congrats, I'm sure you'll love yours as much as I love my 2 Janome machines!

teri295 02-06-2011 07:59 AM

Congrats! I've had mine for a year and a half (Janome 6600) and took it in recently for yearly servicing. When I picked it up, the center offered to give me full price back on it if I traded up for some new Janome model.....I got out of there as fast as I could! That Janome 6600, purchased at the Intl Quilt Festival was expensive to me and I sure didn't need an upgrade. I have been very happy with the 6600 - except there is a guide bar behind it (I think i'ts for straight quilting) that drives me nuts when I switch my feet as often as I do.

cyniree 02-06-2011 08:10 AM

wow, how wonderful.

Joset 02-06-2011 08:10 AM

Oh wow, you are going to have fun with that. enjoy.

Lillian 02-06-2011 08:19 AM

You will love it - I just purchased mine about a month ago - sews like a dream. I am still learning to use it but the manual is really great!

Beebonnet 02-06-2011 08:25 AM

I purchased mine a little over a year ago. I love it more each time I sew, which is nearly every day. Still learning things I can do with it. You will love it.

I have this machine since it first went on the market. Hubby bought it for me for Christmas. Love it and would not want to give it up. I also have a Bernina for taking to classes and a feather weight. But, the Janome is by far my favorite!

Highly recommend joining the Janome yahoo group.

I have learned so much from this group, it covers Janome 6500/6600/7700 machines. They are a fantistic group. Don't know how to do something and it is not in the manual? Just ask and someone will be able to help.

Enjoy your new toy. You are going to love it.

boohoofish 02-06-2011 12:30 PM

You'll love it - got one last July and best investment I've made in a long time.

Grammie Sharon 02-06-2011 01:25 PM

I've been looking at new machines and this was one of them. It seems from the comments made here and other spots on this board that owners really love theirs. I think I'm getting close to choosing now just trying to save the money. Congrats on your new machine.

PABerard 02-06-2011 01:52 PM

wow

vwquilting 02-06-2011 02:46 PM

I was told that the 6600p is made in Japan and the 6600 is made in china and not as good a machine, I called around for price and bought mine last October 6600P for $1,250. I love it. It is as heavy as my Kenmore purshased 44 years ago. I never had it serviced and It ran 7 days a week for 19 years as I owned a bridal shop. still going strong every day

Frankie 02-06-2011 02:51 PM

BarbZ 02-06-2011 04:16 PM

I just bought one a few weeks ago. Kept my Janome 3500 because I love it too. Haven't done much on my new one yet but have heard nothing but good about them and just about all Janome machines. Best of luck with your new machine.

How do you get on the yahoo group? I keep reading about it but never tried.

I do not know how to put links up here but I hope this will help.
Google yahoo groups, then click on yahoo groups home page selection. On the home page type in Janome in the search, the first one on the new page is the Janome 6500 group. Click and join.
