Boston: The name New York for Sherree's beautiful quilt, is the actual name of the quilt pattern. I have the pattern. Her quilts are just amazing for a beginner.

Hi Sheree
Love your quilt...I just started one and can't figure out how to do the inside curves on the bottom of the sqs. I tried to sew it the same way the rest of it is done but because of the inside curve the material bunches up. Can you explain how you managed? thankyou

My thoughts exactly!

Took me months before I would even try curves or paper piecing... Yikes! Looks like a quilting prodigy :)

I'm speachless

Harmony 12-01-2009 11:39 PM

SERIOUSLY???? Your FIRST QUILT???? Did you mean your first quilt this decade? Maybe this is one of those deals (and I've done it!) where as a beginner you were just too naive to know how difficult a project was, so you just went ahead and did it anyway! If that doesn't explain it, then I'd say you're an astonishingly gifted beginner. Good for you--this quilt is a knockout!

Thank you. Seeing this quilt hanging in a quilt shop window was what got me into quilting. I went to the shop 3 times just to stare at it and finally thought "I have to make this". The quilt on display was in drab earthtones, but I decided to do it in all the colors I love. And yes, the ladies at the quilt shop said only someone who had never quilted would take this on. Funny stuff.

DebraK 03-11-2010 04:36 PM

I just want to make up a new word to tell you how great I think that quilt is is.

Sheree from Chicago 03-11-2010 04:38 PM

This quilt was the first of its kind I had ever seen, and I was intrigued by the piecing. Not unlike yourself, I do like a challenging project (hello..........Dear Jane?)!
