My October Quilt
2 Attachment(s)
A few years ago I noticed that although I was always busy quilting all my own quilts were falling apart and I decided that I would make a themed one for each month of the year. At first they were going to be couch/throw size but then I decided why not bed sized? I actually think best in terms of queen sized quits.
And although I mostly work in scraps, some of my theme quilts are what I call planned -- as is this one. The block is the very simple Puss in the Corner put together with black sashing and colored corner stones. I went with a yellow that was more in the fabric, wish I had gone with a warmer tone but it's ok. Just a simple grid for the quilting. |
That's really cute! I love those little pumpkin faces, and the backing works perfectly with the top.

Very pretty quilt and backing.

It's not finished yet so doesn't deserve it's own thread, but here is the very different November quilt.

I have done the same thing. One quilt for each month - the rest for charity. Until I start over for my gkids and kids LOL.
|
Love the quilts....and love the idea...but probably won't do it myself. Seems the family multiplies faster than my ability to make quilts, but it sure is nice to have them appreciated! (and admired, lol)

Great quilt and top!

Great quilts for November. I've heard of wall/door hangings for each month but never heard of a quilt for each month. I love that idea.

Ice Blossom, great job on your October quilt. Love the fun Halloween fabric.
I also love your beautiful November Fan Quilt. It is very pretty. The rick rack trim makes it look even more vintage. |
great quilts... i think the second one speaks to me
