My One and Only Applique Project
 

This is from a needle turn applique class taught by Leslie Hickland.

She was an excellent instructor!

PS - I soaked all the fabrics before using - the yellow had excess dye.

Anyone who can do work like that should not stop. I tried hand applique two times, several years apart, and I am not any good at it. Yours is gorgeous. I do hope you keep going.

Lovely needled applique stitching. I also don't quite know what you mean by 'one and only'. However, I hope it does not mean the only one you will ever do because you don't like the technique because your piece is wonderful. I am getting out a project to applique as we will start on a long road trip next week and I can work on it in the car. We will travel across I-80. How much corn do I need to look at enroute?

I did learn a LOT from that class - and I did enjoy it.

I find hand applique very peaceful work, but haven't done any in quite a while, a Dresden Plate is calling my name though. Your hand work is really very well done, don't stop now.

I started doing needle turn just recently. The first few were awful, an then I learned about "Back Baste" applique. It changed my life. I had sworn off applique as mine was so awful, but now it is coming out beautifully!
