I love the background fabric |
Absolutely beautiful!! I used to cross stitch a long time ago, gave all my materials away once I started to quilt.
|
I love to cross stitch, too, and have been doing it longer than quilting.
This piece is fabulous!!! Great job! Please share more :) |
Wow, just beautiful!

It is a gift for a past Senior Minister at our church. He saw another piece that I did and asked if I would stitch one for him and his wife. Their favorite place in France was the Versailles Gardens. This was the perfect piece for that.

I do not make these heavily beaded pieces into quilts. They need to be put behind glass to protect the stitching as well as the beading. I am stitching a piece now that will be made into a quilt when I finish it. It involves 9 virtues in the Quaker style. I have dramatically changed the colors because I am not crazy about the traditional Quaker colors. This piece has transitioned into a study in color. I like to change colors and use a variety of hand-dyed and varigated colors as well as various types of fibers. I will be hanging this one in my Sunday School classroom. I will try to get pictures of this one up soon so you can see it.

Is the picture of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz a stitched piece? If so I would love to know where you got the pattern. I know that the quilt panels are available but would like to have a cross stitch pattern of this. My DIL is a Wizard of Oz fan and I have been thinking about something special for her with this theme. I will probably wind up stitching a Wizard of Oz quilt for her or making her a Wizard of Oz jacket.
