I have been 'cogitat'in' (my nana's word) on an idea for a three dimensional quilt for a couple years, and this project gave me a chance to try it. It worked better than I thought it would. I won't say who it is for, but I hope she likes it. When I try it again, I will post a tutorial if anyone is interested.

Below are pictures of the postcard I made, and the one I received from Darlene (last name withheld). I love the fact that both of us read the same directions, and translated them in different ways. I made one for my partner Karla (last name withheld) to use to send to her Valentine, and Darlene made one just for me personally. I used all fabric and thread, and Darlene used 'mixed media' for the lovely one she made me. Our differences make this kind of thing a lot of fun. Thank you Darlene, it is beautiful.
