So after our move from Tennessee to Utah I've not been able to access my stash or machine. Unpacked a few days ago and today finally got to start sewing a project I had cut out in Nashville! Will be twin size, three 18'' blocks by four with vertical sashing and borders in same red as in print.
First try at this pattern, so excuse the mistakes.... |
I like this one. Your fabrics are very nice. Haven't seen this pattern before...is it your own or is there a pattern for it?

Squash blossom pattern from the quilters cache. I got the inspiration for it, and then doodled in my EQ5 for the layout. *too lazy to dig that picture out!* But I like this one too...when I cut it out in Nashville I liked it, not knowing where I'd use it. Then when I moved to Utah my new home has a carpet with these tones in it and I now have a guest bedroom with a twin bed...lol guess it was meant to be! |
I don't see any mistakes. The colors are just gorgeous.

I like it. Don't see any mistakes at all. My problem is that sometimes I have trouble finding matching contrast fabric.

Starting to see the pattern develop, even in just the two blocks. However I can't seem to get them to lay flat...they're...bumpy for lack of a better term...*ponders*
The next in line |
This was meant to be for your new home, do like the combinations. .

I think it was too! The carpet in here has flecks of these same tones and I just about squealed when I saw that! lol

It's been a while since I posted on this. Been making slow but steady progress...and then today I just finished it up (almost)
Need top and bottom borders. The vertical sashing I wish I could do more of but the red that is in it is going to be the back and I can't "afford" to take any more fabric from it. So the borders will be the navy and hopefully doesn't look too strange. Then the question, to quilt or tie...I'm leaning towards quilting, but I've never hand quilted before so I'm nervous about that. Also if I chose to quilt, what pattern shall I do? was thinking just "in the ditch" but I have no idea... Need top and bottom borders The vertical sashing. I wish I could do more |
your quilt is coming out very nice!
|
I have some of that brown fabric with the hearts on it. I fell in love with it when I saw it. I only bought a yard though. That is a really nice design. :)
|
Can't decide whether to quilt or tie it....any ideas?
