My Queen Yellowstone top
2 Attachment(s)
Hi Quilters! When I saw cjsews Yellowstone quilt I just had to make one. It looked so country and also had that vintage look to me because of the simple nine patch I think. I was on this about a week but thought I’d never get the top big enough. These ended up being 6 1/4 in square, the gray and the 9P, so at this size it took a lot! First picture is top on the floor as I’m placing and numbering rows. Second is on a queen bed in spare bedroom. I wasn’t going to post until I quilted it but I will have to quilt at a later date. My daughter brought me fabric Sunday and I’m almost finished with a throw she wanted for a friend that has breast cancer, so working on binding that today. It’s just simple 4 inch squares in her favorite colors so nothing complicated. I’ll post later. Enjoy your day! It’s been rainy weather for days and expected more for days. I feel waterlogged-lol
ps. Thank you cjsews for sending some of these fabrics. I found some reds at a second hand shop and then my gray at Hobby Lobby and Kona black at JoAnns. |

Hmmmm, I am putting together four patches from scraps now. Hmmmm, must make tons though, they are small. I know, smaller quilt!

Very pretty quilt.

Love those 9 patch quilts! Yours is terrific!
|
Toogie, you've been busy - very nice quilts.
|
You are one prolific quilter! Another beautiful, albeit simple design with lots of blocks, quilt in comforting warm colors. Love it.
|
Looks great! Maybe I’ll make one, nah?!
|
I have 35 blocks done (5x7). I might go a little bigger. I just have to have it done by Thanksgiving.
|
That is just beautiful! You do amazing work Toogie. how are you planning on quilting it? I am really looking forward to seeing it done!

Tantrum- it does get a little monotonous doing the same thing over and over and having to make so many if you are trying to make a bed size. Like I said I stayed with it everyday because I’m one of those people that like to stay with it until it’s finished. I have only one UFO quilt that I learned to finish from. I have had it about 12 years and I don’t think I’ll ever finish it but it’s there to remind me to always finish what I start. It’s a John Deere rag quilt, the kind you snip the raw edges. I don’t like snipping because my hands cramp. A lady told me to buy a special pair of scissors for snipping. I told her no because I never plan on making another rag quilt.
Tallchick- I’m thinking to keep with the old look, I will quilt in the ditch and continue across the gray square with the # stitching, but a little straighter I hope than this typed font #- lol nothing fancy. I may layer it today so I can begin quilting soon. I liked how cjsews quilted hers but I am stitching on a sit down long arm with no electronics, just straight stitching probably with a ruler. If you really want me to, I can show you when it’s done and also the backing I chose. Thanks everyone for looking and commenting. You’re all very nice to do so. Have a great day-Toogie |
It looks like you cut every single piece out accurately. Nicely done!

Great top and the colours sing!
