My Quilting Guild’s Small Quilt Auction Donations
2 Attachment(s)
My quilting guild held our annual Small Quilt Auction this Tuesday and the following 2 quilts were my donations.
My first quilt I call “Four Season’s Through the Woods” & my inspiration for making this quilt was a photo I saw in a Christmas card catalog at work. I designed it myself using fabrics from my stash. The second quilt called “Oh Christmas Tree” is paper pieced & the tree has a 3D look as the branches are lightly stuffed so they stand out on the quilt. In the auction my Four Season’s quilt won the bid at $60 & my Oh Christmas Tree won the bid at $65 so I was happy to see them go to good homes. Since starting to quilt in 2006 I have a habit of seeing photos and thinking wouldn’t that look good as a quilt. Thank you for looking. I love your Four Seasons quilt. I'm hoping to be inspired by it. Great job on both your quilts.

You should be happy that your beautiful quilts made that much money for your Guild. Nice job on both quilts.

Nice quilts.

oooohhhh, love the Christmas tree one! Great job!
|
They are both very pretty.
|
Both are beautiful! Love the four seasons idea and the dimensional tree -- that scrappy tree skirt is wonderful. Congratulations!
|
I love the Christmas tree the best. :-) Did you have a pattern for the tree itself?
|
So nice! I really like the 4 seasons quilt. Really cute idea! Great job on these!

The pattern I used for the Christmas Tree (called Oh Christmas Tree) was designed by Ruth Jensen with Thimbleart.com. I Googled it & it came up on Ebay for $9.50 plus shipping. It is a fun pattern & I have also made it in fall colors as well. Thanks for all your compliments on my quilt. Mary C

Thanks. I found her site and pattern here: http://thimble-art.com/collections/q...christmas-tree
It also has a video. $8.00 if you download and send to your email. Soooooo easy if you use PayPal. :-) |

Both great projects, but I think the tree is adorable!

There wonderful. A friend belongs to a quilt guild that made a large quilt to raffle off during their quilt show, which was every 2 years and did it for years. The last show they decided that instead of the guild making the large quilt they asked the members to each make a small wall hanging quilt that would be sold at the show instead of doing a raffle. They actually made more money on the small quilts then they did on the large quilt. So it looks like that is what they will be doing from now on.
