Beautiful work. Are your backings a single fabric (even if pieced), whether a single print or a solid? If so, ask him which looks more interesting, more artistic - the pieced front or the plain back. Maybe he would see the difference and "get it". In the end, though, it doesn't matter. We appreciate your work!

They are beautiful

They are all beautiful. I used to have the same sentiment as your DH and suddenly years later I am amazed at the talent of quiltmakers and how they can take a few pieces of fabric and create such wonderful works of art. I just fell in love with handmade quilts and then couldn't wait to make my own. Now my home is filled with delicious fabrics waiting to do just that.
Keep making your quilts you certainly have talent and one day you will feel ready to FMQ your quilts. Try to involve your DH in some of the decisions you make in choosing your fabrics, placement of blocks, etc.

Well done!
don't ever say "never" - - you might surprise yourself! After a few months on this board, you will find that quilting the sandwich will be VERY manageable <g> ... these quilter people on this board are pretty encouraging and informative. They have a way of helping us move beyond where we were when we found them <wave>

alissa 01-01-2011 05:19 PM

your quilts are sew pretty. love the colors

pkary 01-01-2011 05:32 PM

Your quilts are quite lovely! I am not fond of how "hard" longarm quilting makes my quilts so I usually knot or hand quilt my work. I only send them out to my favorite longarm quilter when I run out of time for a promised delivery date. I stick to simple motifs for the hand quilting. My customers have always been happier to have a simple hand quilted quilt than an elaborate machine finished one!

They look lovely---even if you cut up the material in pieces!
The pieces went back together just fine.
