Since having to sell my house and move four times in a little over a year, I have had several sewing areas, each time getting smaller and smaller. I am just completing the last move and finally have all my sewing stuff together again, but limited to a corner of my bedroom. My son came home with a cabinet for my fat quarters and now I can finally see some fabrics. My yardage is in a bucket that I need to move things around in order to access. Here is a pic of my stash jumping at you.

Well, you know...If there's a will there's a way! So good for you to not allow 4 moves and a small space stop you!! My mother lived in a tiny apartment and she cranked out some amazing crafts!

It looks very organized...

Its great that you have a place for your FQ's where you can admire your stash at all times.

Looks small to you but I think it's bigger than my space. And a little more organized. Whatever it takes to keep on quilting, right?

Your area looks very efficient. Hope you are settled and don't have to move anytime soon.

If it makes you feel any better, my space is way smaller :-)

I feel your pain! I had a full finished basement all to my quilty self and we downsized to a small 3 bedroom house. I got everything stuffed in the spare room! Ya gotta do what you gotta do! Now everything is in arm's length! (although I can't find anything either). Good luck with your quilt room, hope you won't have to move again.

It sucks losing space. However I am sure you will knock out amazing quilts no matter how small your area is.

All my quilting stuff is hiding in a closet that is 3'x4' and the space is also shared by my husbands uniforms and our winter coats! I sew at the kitchen table. It can be done just takes a little getting use to.

Good luck.

You amaze me! The 4 moves would have done me in.

I've had many different sizes of sewing spaces - starting with a whole room down to the dining room table now. I've discovered I'm much more creative in smaller spaces. Wishing you a comfortable adjustment, many hours of happy sewing and lots of creativity!

Sometimes we have to make do with a small space. I have
never had a big one.

As asked, here is a pic of the machine' well and acrylic.

The well was made for another machine and is not deep enough for my Bernina, so I cover the edges of the hole with an acrylic made to fit around my Bernina and then add the honey comb to level the machine. If I use the honey comb alone it floats. If the well was a little deeper the acrylic alone would do, no need for the honey comb. Because of the way Bernina bobbin loads, is not possible to make the home completely covered. A square hole gives me space to change the bobbin by just moving the acrylic cover. Clear as mud?

I love what you have done. I think you are amazing. You have made do with what you have, moving 4 times, and adjusting your table to work with your machine. It shows that no matter what the adversity, you WANT to quilt, and it shows! Great job. Go getum girl.

Wonderful job. Let me tell you a story, my first queen size bargello was done in a motorhome, what a job with all those small pieces. I did it, so if you love to sew, you can manage the space. Keep up the good work. Barb
