my scrappy quilt....so far
1 Attachment(s)
I decided to try the QAYG method, I have never done it before. This is a photo of the blocks before I quilted them yesterday, I have to add the sashing between the blocks next.
I LOVE the QAYG method!!! So much easier than trying to push a large quilt through a standard sewing machine to quilt it. I have a 7" opening on my Janome, a very tight work area to feed a large quilt through. I had so many scraps, I am glad I could use them up this way. The blocks are not laid out how I want them....I put them on the bed to see what it would look like so far. My daughter's comforter got ruined, so I making this for them as a replacement. |
looking very nice

Nice job! I'll bet she will be thrilled with her replacement

That is going to be wonderful! Thanks for the idea. I've been cutting 5.5 inch squares to make masculine quilts, and this will put them to good use.
|
A great way to use up scraps.
|
I haven't investigated the QAYG method yet but I am going to. Nice quilt.

That's a great scrappy, nice and bright and cheerful.

Will be watching for a picture of the finished quilt and your impressions after finishing it. Was it the way to go? May want to try it.
|
Really like your blocks so far and a great way to use up not-so-big scraps.
Can't wait to see the finished quilt. |

I finally got my scrappy quilt almost completed. I have to put the binding on yet. It was interesting doing the QAYG method, but sure was easier than handling the entire quilt as one unit to quilt it on my standard machine. |
very nice......love the purple boarder.

Thanks Jane Quilter, I used the purple/lavender combo since I was running out of the other scrap fabric to get the proper width....and the purple/lavender were their wedding colors. Thought I would add a personal touch.
|
Very nice, the small black dashing really helps identify the individual blocks.
|
The black sashing hi-lites to blocks very nicely.
