Just finished this quilt for the grandkids guest bed It started out as a small scrappy star and just kept growing. I am a hand quilter so production is slow but it is mine start to finish.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It is nice to have your work so well received. Only another quilter can truly appreciate how much of ourselves we put into each project.

You have heard about the magic of photography... It hides a multitude of uh ohs... Don't give up ..Your work is better than you think I am sure. Stand back and pretend you are looking at another quilter's work It will look better to you.

Wow! Beautiful! The colors and the quilting! My first quilt is hidden away somewhere in the attic. It is a Texas Lonestar. I used sandpaper templates to cut the pieces and did not think to allow for seam allowances, so when I put the points together, I needed to make an additional point. It must be priceless though, being probably the only Texas Lonestar quilt in the world with nine points!

Bobbinwinder 05-03-2010 12:49 PM

Well, I'm IMPRESSED...#2 looks too good to be true...you were obviously "BORN TO QUILT"! I just wish I could feel this happy quilt, TexasGranny, but since I can only look, would you be so kind as to tell me what batting you used?
Great job on this one!

theresse 05-03-2010 02:00 PM

Bobbielinks, take that quilt out of hiding. It is definitely a unique creation and should have a place of honor.

I like the feel of cotton batting for hand quilting and used Warm and White for this one.
