Oh, I so love seeing everyone's sewing rooms!! What a fun room for great memories w/your grands!! My mom has all kinds of fun stuff in clear containers the girls love to just dig thru and create:))thanks for sharing!! Maybe you will get others to do so too!! Such inspiration:))Skeat

*I watched a utube video of a girl walking thru her mother's sewing room w/a camera...I just loved it! Her mother prob would have had a fit:))Table after table full of fabric, etc. Nothing organized and the whole time you could hear the jumble of the family downstairs as she taped;))She picked up material her mom had made Barbie clothes, etc...was great:))Obv. was a room full of love and creativity for years and years!

Thanks Loretta, the quilt hanging in the closet is the mystery quilt several of us did on the quilt board. The pattern is called Orange Crush and the directions are on quiltville. She is going to start another mystery quilt on Labor Day weekend, I'm going to do this one too.

And the ladder was made by my hubby.

It is so funny the positions the little ones can fall asleep in!! When does Emily start back to school? Is she ready?

She starts on the 20th and yes she is ready. She is working on the first steps to getting braces. She got the spacer last week so right now she is not eating very good. Jamie had to bribe her with some cupcakes so she would eat. She's having a hard time adjusting to it. But she should be eating fine by the time school starts.
Dance starts in a couple weeks so she is looking forward to that. Her sister, Gillian and cousin, Payton will be dancing this year too. Will be fun to get to watch the three of them at the recitals.

awesome sewing room!! love the photos!! I love your mystery quilt hanging in the closet. I'll eventually get to piecing all mine into a full quilt top. I will make an effort to complete the quilt top at least before the year is out :)

The mystery quilt is still just the quilt top, after I get the GD christmas quilts done I'm going to get it finish for their bed. it has alot of the fabrics from the quilts I've made for them and my 2 DD so I want to use it in my sewing/their room.

Cool sewing room. In the second pic theres a super neat looking greenish blue sewing machine. What kind is that? I've never seen any that color

bluebird 08-13-2008 06:36 AM

What a wonderful organized sewing room! If I came over do ya think that some of the organization would rub off? Please..... Beautiful granddaughter, one of a kind precious moment picture.
Started that "Orange Crush" quilt, got confused, , so sewed the 150 squares into another quilt! Yours is beautiful.

sewnsewer2 08-13-2008 07:45 AM

Nice sewing room and beautiful quilts! Brylee must have been playing hard.

Craftybug 08-13-2008 01:52 PM

I love your sewing room, is just perfect, a place for everything and everything in it's place.
Now, when can I come over

barnbum 08-13-2008 02:01 PM

What a great room!! I loved peeking into it. The idea I picked up was using gray/pink colors--great idea!! I like Orange Crush, too....

And that picture of your wee granddaughter----some times I can't wait to be a grandmother.... sigh.....

I'm back with a question--just how is that fabric hanging on the bottom of the ladder? I've got two ladders and just do the strip hanging thing.... I like that look and that the fabric is handy.

Marcia 08-13-2008 05:40 PM

Love your quilt room!! Could just take a bite right out of Brylee-she looks precious sleeping there!! Isn't having granddaughters the greatest????

Karla your world will be all new and fun when you become a grandma, and I know you will make a great one.

On the bottom of the ladder is a quilt I'm working on for Emily. The pattern was called Emily's garden so of course I knew I had to make it for her. I just fold it and hang it on the ladder in between working on it and other things.

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments on my sewing room and my little "sassy girl" Brylee. She is such a joy to be around and always a happy little girl and yes her favorite spot is the swing.
