I love to spend time in this room. I have a TV to listen to as I work and a comfy chair. The brown table I got at a thrift store for $25, very thick and sturdy. The other table can tilt as a drafting table and has power plugs in the front of it. I got the shelves at Ikea, great for organizing. The screen is full of my grandmother's hankerchiefs in the frames.
Got lots of projects in the works, just depends on what I feel like doing... machine sewing, hand sewing, quilting, or just browsing quilting and decorating books. |
Very nice! I like the cubicles.
|
that's such a peaceful room, I'd love it too!
|
Your sewing room looks so light and airy, I don't think I would want to come out if I had a room like that :D
Your quilt looks lovely in the frame by the way :D |
That's morning sun that makes it bright. The quilt is a wedding ring pattern and I'm half done quilting it. I am not thrilled with the color of pink on the border, it's a bit too bright and candy colored. I think I will take it off and re-do it in a more subtle pink.
I'll take a picture of it when I take it out to reposition in the frame. |
It's perfect. :D
|
lovely!
|
Nice sewing room! Nice and bright.
|
Where did you pick up the cubicles and how deep are they? Can we also see the quilt hanging on the wall, such a nice place to sew/quilt...
|
Pam--your quilt room is so bright and cheery. I love the morning sun you get. The hankies in the photo screen is such a great idea. I have a friend who collects old hankies and I am going to share your idea with her.

I got the cubicles at Ikea and they are 15" deep. It is called Expidit. I have a very dark brown one too in my home office that is a little bigger at 5x5 cubicles. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40047675
The quilt on the wall is my very first quilt made from the scraps that my grandmother gave me. I sewed clothes for my daughters and home decorating things before that and one year I went to the county fair and saw the quilts and thought, "I could do that." so I did. I won first place the next year for Quilter's First Quilt. It is machine sewn and hand quilted. I'll take a picture of it to post. |
Great looking room....
I envy the round quilting frame....I have one but without a stand....so its impossible to work with..... Good luck |
Very nice room. Thanks for sharing.
|
So nice and neat...when I sew I make a huge mess..and pick it up about twice a year
:D |
Uhhh... if I took a picture of it right now it wouldn't look so neat. I have 3 projects out and being worked on. That was soon after I got the room back together after my daughter and her family moved out. I gave up my sewing room for the baby and it was all taken apart and under my bed.

Great sewing room and your storage is perfect. Show us your quilts when you can.
