We had a discussion in chat Monday about the sewing area we use. I promised a picture. It's on a computer table, with the quilt tray on it which meets the upper section of the computer desk. For the slick top I used the spongy type shelf liner. It stays in place and works terrific at holding my machine in place.

I like the "Tool Belt" in front of your machine!!! I need to try one of those!! :D

Pretty messy, no need to really straighten it all up while I'm working up all the BOMs, I'll get it tidy about a week from now and then mess it up again with a new BOM.

I LIVE for a messy sewing room... that means I'm getting to play around in there!!!

Sharon, I do believe you've stolen my machine! Or it could be Patrice's! How do you like it?

Kathy, I love it! I bought it last December and I've already put a lot of miles on it. It is really quiet and does a smooth seam. Don't you love the automatic tension??

How do you like it??

Carla, me, too! If the carpet in my house doesn't have threads everywhere my family knows I'm really sick. Even when I swear I'm going to vaccum every time I finish for the day  I don't! I just pick up another needle and do something else

Isn't that why we were taught to sew when we were young????

Sharon, is it the Ingenuity? I have a tension dial so don't guess it's auto or maybe I missed something. But I do like it a lot except....... I can't chain piece without lifting the presser foot, on my Futura embroidery is wonderful, I can just keep putting them up to and it just takes it right in. I sewd on it while the Ingenuity was in the shop but usually keep it set up for embroidery, that way I can do both at the same time!

Don't vacume those threads... Get a lint roller & tape (or zip-tie) the handle to a paint pole, broom handle, or large dowel and roll it across the floor. It will pick up the threads, pins (if there aren't too many threads), pet hair, dust bunnies  (uh, so I hear), and anything else down there. You can attach a duster to the other end to reach the ceiling fan & upper corners of your rooms. (short person tip  )
