One year ago this month I moved into a new "to me" home" Hubby finally got his garge up and now it my turn. Here is what my sewing space looks like. Please keep the pics coming of yours. Now I know I want storage under the sewing area What Else Can I Do? I want to make the most of the space.

Can't fit the whole wall in but this is just o ver 1/2 the space

You can velcro some fabric on the end of the tables on all sides to hide the fabric.

janetter 07-07-2011 04:31 PM

Great Idea thanks!!!

Pickles 07-07-2011 04:36 PM

OOOooooOOOOO I want one! LOL your dog does the same as mine, lays right in the middle of the floor! LOL

Anyways, I know it will be awesome when you get done with it and it is exactly the way you want it... UNLESS you are like me and rearrange every two months ;)

"But Mom, I want to play ping-pong."

"Tough."

Magdalena 07-07-2011 04:53 PM

Oh, I love your She Cave! Can I come and sit with the doggy?

carolaug 07-07-2011 04:54 PM

You could even make a nice quilt table top...and put your sewing machine under the table when your not sewing..and you could make a few nice quilted panels to hide the fabric. That would look awesome! hmmm....so many possiblies.

craftybear 07-07-2011 05:33 PM

nice space, I would make table covers for the tables to hide stuff underneath

also looks like you have a spot for a design wall

Jammin' Jane 07-07-2011 05:33 PM

Nice big she cave! Love the wood walls!

lpsewing 07-07-2011 10:12 PM

I too use a ping pong table for my sewing table, perfect size !!

Opal Jane 07-08-2011 05:52 AM

Wow! That is a nice large room....

Jingle 07-08-2011 06:52 AM

Looks like you need lots of bookcase, shelves, cabinets.
Nice space, can't have too much easy to get to storage.

Prism99 07-08-2011 06:56 AM

Wonderful space!

Are you leaving the sofa in there?

My old eyes needs lots of light, so I would probably paint the wood paneling. (Seemed like heresy when we did that to a basement room in our old house, but it ended up looking nice and really improved the lighting in the space.)

I like the suggestions for pegboard and lots of cupboards and cabinets!

We did that decades ago in my mother's house - the 1960's dark paneling was repainted white. It's amazing how much lighter and bigger and airier those rooms looked - and all for a day's work and less than $100/bucks.

Chasing Hawk 07-08-2011 07:22 AM

Very nice, I love the paneling. Don't paint over it, just get lots of white furniture like bookcases, a sewing table and a cutting table. And some overhead lights such as track lighting. The kind that hangs down a bit from the ceiling. Pendant lighting is what it's called I think.

carslo 07-08-2011 08:33 AM

Great! Do you use the pingpong table for sandwiching your quilts? I was thinking that one would just the right size and then when not in use could be used as a design wall.

Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

Janet

That is a nice, big room. I know that you will enjoy your "She Cave". You can shut the door and enjoy the peace and quiet of working on your projects.
