A few days ago, I posted my need to finish the two side projects from Eleanor Burns' Day & Night Quilt. The book instructed to save the scraps to make a Mini Star Wall Hanging and a Spider Web Lap Quilt. After finishing the Day & Night Quilt I took a month off and made a wedding quilt. Then I came back to these two side projects but it was taking more and more will power to keep working with the same colors, over and over again. I started the Day & Night in March so, since then, I've mainly seen black, white and red. But, with some encouragement from some awesome ladies on here, I finished quilting and binding the Spider Web today! (The Mini Star was already quilted and bound). I save my binding to be done by hand, once it's been stitched on, so, those can be saved for my weekly quilting groups.

WOW... Who knew you could make 3 quilts out of the fabric that was bought for only one. I am amazed and love the colors too. Those are my kids school colors, so if I did that it would get them three of them done at once... so cool.

If you don't mind... can you tell me what the sized of the wall hanging and lap quilt are?

nativetexan 08-25-2010 05:08 AM

My goodness, you really did save those scraps!! beautiful quilts!!!!

Haha, I actually still know the lap quilt's measurements from the binding yesterday. It's 54" square and the wall hanging is a yard square.
