Gosh, I just remembered about all the "Goodwill" stuff on my patio...oh well, maybe I can add that in tomorrow!
OK, so here's "the Fabric Shop". The cabinets are from IKEA, called "Billy" in beech finish. They're 72" tall & about 32" wide. The stack of plastic bins in the corner have scraps & fleece & miscellaneous stuff. On the window wall there are 2 white hampers about 30" wide, that have batting & pillow forms in them. 2 cabinets are on one wall, the other one is on the wall across the room, with a bookcase & a small dresser on each side. The closet is full of Christmas & other miscellany. And to think, when they started, you could only take about 2-1/2 steps into the room! I don't think I'll ever be able to thank them enough!!! hmmmmm, do you think I have enough blue? The bottom shelf (that doesn't show) is all old Levi's! lol |
Can I borrow your sisters for a week!?

Can I come and 'shop' at your fabric store?
Seriously, you have wonderful sisters! |
That is one fabulous personal fabric shop!!! I bet you smile from ear to ear every time you step foot in this room!! Very nice sisters you have!!! (can we ever have enough blue, or any other color for that matter LOL)

Sue - your cupboards are wonderful!! I'm wondering though how big all those pieces of fabric are? I don't see any fat quarters!

They are fabulous, and your room looks so pretty! (Well, with fabric on display, how can it not?)

Oh your quilt room looks so nice. That is what I need to do. I have things in bags and when I want them cannot find them. I need to get busy.
Your room looks great. Browneyes |
hmmmm, I have 2 sisters, I wonder if they'd be interested?
It looks wonderful, don't let that keep you from digging and getting creative. Let's see what you can do now! |
Hi,
I sure wish my sewing room looked like that. How long did it take you both to get it organized? It sure looks nic,e. Linda |
I think we all want to visit. All of those fabrics stacked so nicely, colors sorted out, just make me drool. You've certainly inspired me!! I need more fabric.......one can never have too much of a good thing!
~Joan |
I need a couple of cabinets like that for my fabrics. All mine are in big plastic bins so need to move them around to find what I'm looking for. (But sometimes will just go shopping instead, LOL! easier on my back).
|
Wow thats an impressive stash! I have a nice size stash, but of course one can never have enough fabrics!!!
I am hoping to buy/build a house this year or early next. I plan to have a large sewing room/studio as I want to teach private classes from my home. I am always looking for ideas on how to arrange my sewing room to get the best out of it. All ideas are welcome!!! Cheers Andrea |
yep, 50% off plus the 10% off total purchase, got some colors I was missing or running low on this morning, and of course fabric.
|
I know those coupons are really a big help to me and I always feel I have to use them. I missed out this weekend and didn't get to go and use them
Darn! There were some things that I needed to get. Linda |
President's sale is through today and the one coupon is good next week (a 50% off one)
|
I wish I had seen before pictures!!Nothing I love more than organizing a space only problem is I usually do it to my husbands shop or garage when I can't stand to look at it anymore. I would love to have all that fabric.
For those who can't buy the cupboards the plastic salad containers(we have in Canada) are great for storing fabric and they stack--They also fit 2 high under the queen size bed of a travel trailer on either side of the water holding tank!!! Great sisters to have. |
Hi,
I did not realize that. Thansk for letting me know. I will be sure and get there. Linda |
Is JoAnne's an American Fabric chain??We will be travelling in the US and I wouldn't want to miss a good fabric store!!
|
YES, JoAnns is a fabric chain. So is Hancocks. But if your going to come to the U.S., there are other places to check out. Hobby Lobby also sells fabric. A little pricey, but some nice fabrics. Also check out Walmart, some still carry fabrics at a good price. And there are little pop up quilt shops in most citys and towns. When you get to a city or town, look at a phone book for local listings. Or if you are carrying a lap top go on there. Just a thought.
|
Thanks Rebecca I have written those names down for our travels!!
I have seen some of the smaller stores in our travels but at the time we had timed destinations so didn't stop but this next trip I'll stop. Thanks for the info. |
Tricky
You are certaintly welcome. Have fun...... |
I love your glass front cabinets. They are high, but not deep. The dust will stay off the fabrics & it looks so colorful & pretty! Thanks for the idea!
|
I think you sister nailed it--this does look like a fabric shop. Bet you'll get a lot more done now that you're so organized.
|
Ok, I'm coming to your house to do some shopping!
|
xyzquilts....oh I see some fabric I could use...on the pink pile and the yellow and the blue oh don't forget the red pile.....now that was fun shopping at your place....Nice job girls!
|
 Wow!! You sure have great sisters. Your room looks awesome.
