Here is my over the door organizer which I just finished and many of my tools now have a regular home where I can find them when needed.

This is a pattern from Patterns by Annie.

How perfect!

Tartan 04-17-2018 07:53 AM

Well done! I have a big piece of peg board that holds a crap load of misc. sewing stuff.

You did a great job on this with a pretty bright back ground fabric. A great handy storage idea where you can see exactly what you need.

Quilter 53 04-17-2018 07:54 AM

Great idea, but I don't have a door in my sewing fortress

QuiltnNan 04-17-2018 08:03 AM

nicely done

red-warrior 04-17-2018 08:39 AM

Bright and useful!

Now that's a super idea, and you did a wonderful job putting it all together with beautiful colors.

oksewglad 04-17-2018 04:38 PM

Easy to find stuff, too, ube!

fred singer 04-17-2018 05:04 PM

very clever

Rhonda K 04-17-2018 05:23 PM

Love it! A great organizer and pretty fabric too. Did you use a teflon foot to sew the vinyl or use tissue paper?

ube quilting 04-17-2018 05:34 PM

Nothing special to sew except a longer stitch length and a sharp needle. It fed right through the feed dogs under my quarter inch foot without a problem. When adding the binding to the pockets I glue basted it in place before I sewed it.

I tried leaving the paper on but found it more trouble to keep it in place.

Good job!!

What a neat idea. No pun intended. Lol

coopah 04-18-2018 05:20 AM

That's beautiful. I admire all the detailed work that went into it. Just excellent...beautiful and purposeful.

jmoore 04-18-2018 05:52 AM

Such a wonderful organizing item...love the paisley fabric. Looks like it will hold a lot of notions. What a wonderful idea and awesome job.

Organized, space-saving, beautiful--what's not to like!

sewvicki 04-18-2018 12:04 PM

Great idea for a small space. If you can't go out, go up. Clever idea. Thanks for sharing.

bunbytes 04-18-2018 02:57 PM

Very cool. I love the fabric.

My daughter bought an over the door shoe organizer. Seems to work like yours. Not as pretty though

2manyhobbies 04-19-2018 04:07 AM

Very nice. I need something like this.

MarionsQuilts 04-19-2018 04:13 AM

Great job Ube! I wanted something like that, but alas, the parrot and I have differing opinions on what I am allowed to have! I have a pegboard like Tartan, but I also have a piece of fabric that covers it ... and icky piece of fabric - with holes in it!

JoyjoyMarie 04-19-2018 11:17 AM

Love the custom see-thru pockets. A great solution for those of us without Xray vision!

tuckyquilter 04-19-2018 11:27 AM

Great way to store things.

madamekelly 04-19-2018 11:53 AM

I really like your door organizer, but how do you hang it over the door? Love your fabric choice by the way.

EllenwoodGa 04-19-2018 01:32 PM

Great idea.

It uses a dowel and you do have to purchase the door hangers at any hardware store, not expensive.
