Not the best picture, not the best quilt, but now my 19 y/o keeps his bed made!

I finished it in September.

Thanks for looking. :)

It looks like a very well made bed to me.

Great quilt and I like the colour combo.

I'm glad it came out okay. Several months ago, I posted about a kit that was missing fabric. I had to make up some of it from stash.

Love it! What method of QAYG did you use?

helou 12-19-2015 04:02 AM

I don't really have a method. I quilt the blocks individually, leaving enough room to seam together into rows. I seam the back together first, then flip over the top edge and stitch down leaving room at the end to join rows.(hope that made sense) I added the little stars as I was joining rows and I put decorative stitching on all the joining seams.

Maybe someday I'll try doing real QAYG with sashing, maybe cornerstones.

DresiArnaz 12-19-2015 09:33 AM

Forgot to mention I use a lot of pins when joining blocks.

tessagin 12-19-2015 09:38 AM

I think it looks great!!

Well, this is exactly what puzzles me. these little stars! It looks to me anyway, very difficult to make them so "perfect". excellent job!!!

molly oldham 12-20-2015 05:52 AM

Me too! Are these pieced into the rest of the blocks or appliqued? I am intrigued.

DresiArnaz 12-20-2015 06:49 AM

All of the stars are applique. Big ones onto background fabric then little ones onto corners where four block meet as I join rows.

ManiacQuilter2 12-20-2015 06:51 AM

Perfect selection of fabric for a lovely masculine quilt. He must be very proud of this quilt if he is making his bed on a daily basis.

red-warrior 12-20-2015 09:19 AM

The set is lovely!
