Oh that is so pretty.

maybe try sewing three together twice and then joining them on a straight line; that way you just need to line up the center point and no y-seams. Just a suggestion? Very nice colors.

Beautiful! I'm no help either but can't wait to see the finished project! I'm really surprised though that wherever you took the class didn't offer any follow up instructions.

Oh she did, sorta. She made it into a wall hanging and the info I have tells how to do that, but I wanted a quilt. I asked her about the blocking and she said to applique the big star onto a piece of background fabric. I can do that, but eh, I'd like the full block effect.

Thanks to all those who took a peek. I am going to do the idea where the three are sewn and then sewn in a straight line, my main problem is filling in the Star V's on the outside, if that makes sense. Thank you for the link, I have it bookmarked on the Y seams.

I have put up colors and a friend suggested a white on white that matches the white triangles. I also tried a darker blue, but then the dark blue tips blend in too much. Anything with prints is too busy for around the star.

Very pretty. I don't have the nerve to do one of them but like it very much.

The Lone Stars that I have seen are done with two joining triangles between the points. I googled "Putting the Lone Star together" and came up with this link. Hope it helps you. It is beautiful BTW.
