My little Sara is a Daisy Scout and sold over 200 boxes this year. Her mom was one of the very first Daisy Scouts and went on up to Cadette Scouts. She followed her mother's footsteps (me) as I started as a Brownie and went up through Cadettes as well.

This year I plan to make Sara's new quilt with these fabrics. I also have some left overs from years ago, but I'm not sure they fit in - what do you think?

Did I mention I was a Brownie leader for several years too. And once I was the area coordinator for Coronado, CA. That was a lot of years ago!

This line is a Robert Kaufman line.

I think they are all totally awesome! What a wonderful tradition!

The brownie on white sure brings back memories! Only one flavor of cookies...trefoils (@ 50cents a box)...my mom was one of the brownie leaders back in the 50's when I was in 2nd & 3rd grade. Then my daughter was in scouts till 6th grade and I was a leader 2 or 3 of those years.

Use all the fabrics...let it tell a story...

They are great fabrics -- use them all up! She will love it definitely! I love mixing old with new! :D :D

Love your fabrics, be sure to post a picture of your quilt for show and tell

Those are wonderful fabrics. I have some of them too. DGD is bridging this year and I want to make her a girl scout quilt. I can't wait to see yours.

Oh, I just had a flashback of DD in her Brownie uniform. She too had sold the most in her troop and district. I was so proud of her.

Love the fabrics. She will love the quilt.

Where can I find these fabrics? Would love to make a GS quilt for my granddaughter.
I was a brownie and Jr. scout... Now, I'm a mixed level troop leader.
My daughters were brownie scouts but had a bad experience with cookie sales so they didn't continue...
My granddaughter is in her 6th year of scouting and has just earned her bronze award. She's going for GOLD.

I just love the new GS fabric. DD was in scouts and I was her leader. I had 21 girls in my troop. I was also a neighborhood chair for 4 years. I saved all of DD's badges and always thought about putting them on a quilt. I might have to dig that bag out of the closet and make that quilt.

Those are going to make a very pretty quilt!

We have a long tradition with Girl Scouts in our family too. I started in Brownies when I was in kindergarten - I guess that was 1956. I went through Juniors. Then my daughter started in Brownies in 1989, and went through Juniors. My grandaugher is now in Juniors. I love the updated and original fabrics together. They just look so comfortable together! I love your idea, and think it will be a great looking quilt.

Did you use their free pattern to make yours? - pictures please. I was wanting to make it with my GD this summer so it will be a project in wait for a while. (Not that I don't have enough to do! I've got at least 3 or 4 more projects I'm working on right now.) And I need it to be an easy pattern for her - she's only 6.

My mom mentioned that she was a scout years ago too, and I remember that she was also my Junior leader for a couple of years. I hope that my daughter decides to be a leader for her little one. It sure has made for some wonderful memories for us all.

I'm partial to the originals, but they are all fabulous. Do you have a design in mind, or need to find one?

I think I'm going to use the free pattern at http://www.robertkaufman.com - I need an easy one to work with my GD.

Oh, what memories. I was a Brownie and Junior leader, too, with my youngest daughter. We had some wonderful times!

I saw the Boy Scout fabric and am glad to see the Girl Scout fabric as well!

I know the quilt will be beautiful!

Here's the pattern I was going to use.

I've seen this line of fabrics and it sure does bring back memories. I started as a brownie and went thru high school being a girl scout and helping my leader with her brownie troup! I earned every badge that was avalable and wish I still had the sash they were sewed on.
