My Sunflower Patch
1 Attachment(s)
I finally finished this quilt on the weekend after starting it three years ago for my daughter and her husband as a wedding gift and who have now been married just over two years. The quilt did not have a pattern, but was derived from a lap quilt my daughter and I saw in a LQS while I had her out shopping to show me what style of quilt she would like and picked this...sort of. Being a hand quilter I attempted to reproduce the quilt but with my own touch of hand quilting. Long story short, I learned a lot about what to do and not to do in the making of this quilt. I developed carpal tunnel before I could finish it by hand and therefore ended up with a 'hybrid' of both a hand and a machine quilted quilt. They haven't seen it yet, I'll be shipping it to them next week. I hope they like the end product and the pillows I put together to go with it.

A treasure from mom. It is very lovely. I've seen several quilts which have both, Hq and machine. Best of luck to the young couple.

Thank you everyone for your comments and encouragement! I've learned so much from this forum and others that helped me get this project finished and have to give credit to all the fellow quilter folks out there that give so generously of their knowledge. I will endeavor to pay it forward at every opportunity! Quilters are amazing people 😉.

They're going to love it and happy it's finished. Mixing hand and machine can be good and you've proven that. No quilt police coming from this end. BTW it's beautiful.
