Sorry I didn't get back to you all sooner. The designs are done with an embroidery machine. You have to have a 6 x 10 inch hoop or larger. You have to use a wash away web type of stabilizer. When you do the embroidery you are embroidering on the backing fabric, batting and front fabric, so when you are done the back looks almost as good as the front and all the quilting is done. The designs (there are 11 of them) were bought from www.embroidery.com and the design is called Tree-Mendous. The design is on sale until 12/31. The design comes with very good instructions. You only need 2/3 of a yard of fabric with half that amount of batting to make the tree.
If any of you make some, please send pictures. I would love to see them.
Julie

I love your trees. I guess I would need an embroidery machine to do those.

I purchased that pattern too. I need to just do it. I had to do some resizing for my hoop. I sure hope it works out as well as yours did.

gramquilter2 11-28-2011 04:06 PM

I also saw these trees made up by a board member last year and made 9 of them for gifts.
They really are a lot easier than they look and embellishments are the fun part.
Yours are beautiful, reall like the dark one and the embellishing you did on the white one.

DianneK 11-28-2011 04:23 PM

MJONW 11-29-2011 04:18 AM

Is there an embroidery pattern for these? They are wonderful!

gmaybee 11-29-2011 04:24 AM

Beautiful.

Yarn or Fabric 11-29-2011 04:28 AM

Yes, it is an embroidery design. It is by PJ's In the Hoop. It is distributed through Anita Goodesign. You can get it directly from the PJ's site however it is on sale at http://www.embroidery.com/product.as...ctsetID=125110
:)
There is also an absolutely adorable snowman called Crazy Legs. I am going to get that one once I get some clarification on the shoes. It looks to me to be plastic pieces but the write up doesn't say anything about it. I wish that the designers would include important information about things like that!!
