My trial obw
1 Attachment(s)
Have set out some of my Obw blocks to have a look . I have found another piece of fabric so maybe will do a few more as there are only enough to make a bed runner at moment and I don't really want one.

looking good

Looks great as a OBW!
really a great start! If you don't want a bed runner, you might consider a long narrow shawl-type throw. Back it with flannel. Sometimes I just want something around my shoulders, especially if I'm going to be getting up and down a lot.
Very pretty, you may be able to add more from a different fabric, like yellow and make a quilted cover.
very nice!!!!!
You could also use some of Bethany Reynolds ideas for different settings and use plain blocks or something to create a bigger area. Those are just beautiful. Or meander on over to Pinterest and see some ideas there or Google images. Looks like you might have enough blocks for a different setting.

I saw this setting which would be good when you have fewer "squares."
That is really nice -- I want to try this process -- just hope when I do that it turns out as nice as yours.
Very pretty.
beautiful so far
I'm loving it! If you want to go larger - you could do some shades of black and then some shades of the rose/pink (?) color and have the real colorful blocks swirl between those 2. i think a lap quilt would be awesome!
Coming along great.
Beautiful!
Another way to put them together that will make it quite a bit larger and allow you to see the individual designs created, but still maintain the "flow" is to use setting triangles of a solid or blender in between. |
Very pretty!
Mom 6 I like the sound of that but wouldn't know what size to make the triangles. How would I go about it. Thank you all for kind remarks. Remember this only started as trial with curtain fabric but it looks so good I may try and do something concrete with it.
really a great start
Very nice. Good job.
I made a wall hanging, didn't have enough fabric for more, but isn't it fun to see how each block turns out???? I had a ball making mine. Keep saying I will make another, but haven't :( A suggestion...be sure to include a piece of the "whole" fabric to compare your blocks to (like maybe the border).
OBWs are so magical! I really like your fabric choice - you have done a great job!
Looking good....
Wow to both the quilts. Love the way a large print can make interesting blocks.
This is beautiful and they are so much fun to watch the pattern grow. You could square it up with black hexi pieces and add a black or pink border to enlarge some more.
ruthrings, I just love that setting for the obw blocks!! I saved the photo for a reference~~

Mine is done with the 8 layers, but wanted to show how I made it larger and also how I used up some scraps by making the 4Ps in the border. You could get the same effect around your blocks with the triangles as someone mentioned.
Really nicely done !!
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
I have been collecting fabric in that line for one block wonders too... yours is looking nice :)
