Here it is! Finally got the urge to piece the quilt, I have had the shoe panels for a couple months now. I LOVE IT! :) This will be a Christmas gift for my sis.. I would love to quilt it myself (ON MY NEW JUKI!!!!) But I am a little nervous and not too sure what to do with those big, open, white spaces. Ideas?

When I made a quilt with that style I did a simple cross hatch,,did not take away from the design.

So, did you just cross hatch, keeping the shoe portion of the block free from stitches?

Very cute

I think pebbling would look nice. It would allow you to get close to the shoe but not quilt over it.

Cute! You could also do echo quilting around the shoes.

Oh wow, it is so cool for me to see someone else's version of my painted shoe quilt, Head over Heels!! I quilted my own and if I, when I, do another I will outline with straight stitching, each shoe, adding a little bit inside of each shoe to keep it from "puffing up". Then I would do really small stippling around each shoe, only in the light area. The rest of it, you might as well just do some larger meandering/stippling, because you hardly see it on the dark fabric.
