Hi everyone, i purchased this pattern , its called the sunbonnet sue, on embroidery library. I've been having problems with my embroidery, with puckering, so i try this pattern and it turned out not to bad. I was so excited i wanted to show everyone. It was fun making it, now i have 11 more months to do, away i go back to embroidering. Happy sewing everyone :D

Denise, that is fantastic! Looks quite thread dense, so I hope you have enough thread to complete your project! There is a tear away stablizer that is quite thick that may help with your puckering problems. Another suggestion, if you haven't taken an embroidery class, see if your retailer offers one. That is a place to pick up tips on hooping and stablizers. This one looks perfect to me. Keep up the great work!

Hi Ruth , the pattern is embroidered by machine and i just measured around to sew the border to it. I'm thinking of maybe putting another thinner border around the first one. Thank you for the compliment.

Thanks boo, i definitely will look on message board for tips on embroidery. I need all the help i can get. The store where i bought machine does have classes, but its abit out of the way to go for classes. But whenever i do go into town and stop in for more thread, (only have 80 colors) gotta have more . I always have a list with me for questions.

I did another block for my calendar sue bonnet, i'm so unhappy with the results of the lettering though. Can someone help me with this problem? I don't know why the pattern itself of sue bonnet sews good, i just don't understand why the lettering keeps skipping. The lettering is part of the pattern.

Those are so! cute Denise. :) I have no knowledge whatsoever about machine embroidery, sorry, but had to let you know how much I liked your work!

Wow those are so cute, they look pretty good to me :-)
Re skipping on letters, I don't know anything about machine embroidery, but all things being equal ie needles, patt etc, the only thing you are changing is the thread, are you using a different type of thread for the lettering? Sorry but that's about as far as my knowledge goes

denise, what type of machine do you have? those needles wear out pretty fast. I have found that I have less trouble if I give it a break on big projects, maybe do a couple color blocks then wait 10-15 minutes before doing 2-3 more. I have a singer futura.
