Using a picture frame from the dollar store I had to try the fun and done quilt, here is a sample, I have to find the perfect fabric to do this one this is just going to be a hop mat for the table. I used some scraps I had.

Can you tell me how wide the "sashes" turn out to be?

I have been wanting to do this with my sample blocks when I get ready to start free motion quilting...

Thanks!

The sash size will depend on how wide your outer piece is this one was an inch so they are almost a half inch each side making the whole thing 1 inch I just cut a larger template from plastic using one and a quarter on the outside and and 10 on the inside square. I bought fabric today and hope to get at it this weekend. It was simple to do but I was in a hurry and this was just to see if I liked doing it, I did, so will press as I go this time, making it neater.
