Very pretty. I once made placemats with this idea.
see if I can remember how.
Stack two fabrics together right sides up. Measure down however far you like and make a crosswise cut then measure down angain and make another crosswise cut Do the same thing verticle. Measure in so far and cut move over and cut again. Now just exchange the 2 fabrics. Hope you can understand this.

very nice - my sister would love it - she is a big fan of 30's. we figured out she inherited it from my grandmother and great grandmother. don't know why i didn't get it also!

Please let me know where to find the pattern you used I am working on my scrap pile and it just keeps getting bigger so that looks like a fast way to use some up.

Here's my version - decide your own starting size and proportions. Just remember that whatever size you start with - because of the two seams you lose 1" each direction with another 1/2" for seam around block.
