Well, I put this together with some scraps of mine - I realized as I finished that I had to circles going the same way - so had to rip out and go again. Then got finished and realized that I left two pieces out - more ripping - just finished and now I realize that my "s" is backwards. I wish I could blame dyslexia but I don't have it. Oh well - I want to make another one anyway. BTW -its way bigger than I thought - I did use the 10 degree ruler - I was surprised. Back to the drawing board.

Oh, that is soooo pretty! Great job!

mrspete 01-23-2011 02:42 PM

pretty nice, congrats!

Alondra 01-23-2011 02:42 PM

Well, luv, if you think your S is backwards, don't call it an S... call it a seahorse. See? There's a logical solution to everything!

ewecansew 01-23-2011 02:45 PM

It does look like a seahorse. pretty colours.

cherylynne 01-23-2011 02:48 PM

Very pretty. It's a spiral and maybe doesn't have to be an "s". Looks good to me.

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 01-23-2011 02:56 PM

Very nice. It will be beautiful when finished and well worth the frustrations you had with assembling it. I have both the 9 degree and 10 degree ruler wedge so I will probably use the smaller one as I want to make a smaller version of the spiral to fit a table I have. Please post again when this is finished.

KK 01-23-2011 02:58 PM

it is an S if you use the pink point as top of the S

KK 01-23-2011 02:58 PM

oh no - you are right, I am wrong :))))))

I've made a couple of these, and have found if you omit an even number of the larger wedges, it still comes out the same, but smaller.

Very pretty! You are hilarious! I can't stop laughing . . .dyslexia, ha!

sewgull 01-23-2011 03:29 PM

Love the seahorse, rather than a S

Thank you Lindyline. I will have to try to remember that when I make it. Good advice.

Ramona Byrd 01-23-2011 04:17 PM

That one is pretty. Don't change it a bit. Just put it on a larger flat space, everyone will love it.

harvsstuff 01-23-2011 04:20 PM

It looks very nice with those bright colors.

clem55 01-23-2011 04:50 PM

It looks wonderful to me! Great job, love your colors! And your fur babies in your avatar are just adorable- they look like they are posing for their picture, too cute!

Very pretty. My first one was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be too. Had to leave out a couple of wedges and trim the sides down to make it fit on my coffee table.

Jingle 01-23-2011 05:08 PM

Looks pretty yo me, I wouldn't call it an S, let everyone decide what it is.

Pat P 01-23-2011 05:10 PM

Isn't it true that every quilting adventure is a learning experiment? At least it is for me.

0tis 01-23-2011 06:28 PM

I think I want to make another but trim down like the others have suggested - I think it would look real cute at 1/2 the size.

sewwhat85 01-23-2011 06:54 PM

very pretty

milkbone 01-23-2011 07:15 PM

I really like the spiral----I never saw the pattern before. I want to make one---it would look so good on a large table---now I have to get a large table :)
Do you have to have a special ruler or something??? Are the directions easy to follow???? I really like this......

Carron 01-23-2011 07:18 PM

I like it just as is....don't call it "s" give it another name such as "swish"

bjdemir 01-23-2011 09:23 PM

I agree that maybe it doesn't matter which way it spirals. It is beautiful any way.

Ditter43 01-23-2011 09:27 PM

Looks good to me. Does it matter which direction it's going? Great job!! :-D

BizzieLizzie 01-25-2011 03:13 PM

North Star Mama 01-25-2011 03:16 PM
