Looks like it would be a great Christmas quilt. I also like making the 8 point stars w/ HST rather than flying geese.

If you squint, you can see that the large green half rectangles make a big star. Interesting design.

Should be great.

What I was originally looking for was something similar to BQ3 but not so "wonky". Found this and thought I could just use my "focus fabric" in place of the star block. In the end, it turns out that I don't have enough of two fabrics to do this, so will go back to my original plan (D9P), but would really like to try this one in the future.

The five large pinwheels really pop out. Another set could leave out the triangles on the edges that don't add to the design. Love your idea for adaptation of the original.
