I just spent the last hour playing with these blocks. I lost track of the variations you can make. I think I found my new addiction. :-)

Tell me what you think. These are 6" unfinished. I've had an FQ of the stripe for sometime now. Never knew what to do with it. The pink is one from a couple months ago, I thought was neat. The green I got last week 'cuz I had used the yellow version in overlanders quilt and thought it was neat, too. DH said this green out of the two I chosen set the other two fabrics off. Bless his heart-he was right.

Now to sew together getting the points right on! Thought I would make a table topper.

This may be my sewing area, we'll see after I submit it.

These are so cute! Love the color combo!

dglvr 11-17-2009 10:04 PM

Awesome, you did great. I'm not sure which way I like the best but I think the 1st and the 4th would be my pick. I can't wait to get all my Christmas presents done and a few UFO's so I can try it. I've seen alot of them lately and like them all. :D
Thanks for sharing.

Deecee 11-18-2009 12:02 AM

Love the bright colours and I vote for 2 and 4. Would like to see what secondary pattern appears with either 2 or 3. Can't wait to see pic of finished table topper!

beachlady 11-18-2009 05:14 AM

Love your colors. It looks like fun!

k3n 11-18-2009 05:16 AM

Those are great! Such happy colors. My favorite is the last one. :)

omak 11-19-2009 06:09 AM

Apple green, Neon Pink!
Cannot go wrong with THAT combination!
I like #3, but they are all fun blocks, and I think if you sewed all four together just as you have displayed them will make a VERY interesting table topper.
Good job!
Thank you so much for sharing what you have been doing with the "tube quilting" technique.
speaking of which!
Let me post the thread before someone decides they need to ask <G>

OH! Just gorgeous!
I vote for 2 and 4 as well! 2 of each would make a great table topper!
I'll send my address!! Those are MY colors!!

Catlady 11-19-2009 03:38 PM

I went to a quilt show last weekend and one of the vendors had made
some tube blocks with four colors instead of 3. The square came out
bigger of course. I've been playing with the tube sewing and its so
fun and quick. Now I'm gonna try it with four colors.

Sugarpumpkin 11-19-2009 03:54 PM

These are so pretty! I cant wait to give this a try!

I love the colors you chose...would love a lap quilt out of those colors haha

Shorebird 11-19-2009 06:00 PM

Aren't these tube strips so much fun? You can get such variety from a relatively simple method.............I am in the process of an over-sized king size bed quilt using this method for my daughter and her husband, and it is such FUN to put together!

Goodness! How long have you been working on that bigger than life quilt? :?: :?: :?:

kd124 11-19-2009 10:26 PM

I love those colors!! Makes some beautiful blocks

Pickles 11-19-2009 11:06 PM

Love your colors , I can't wait to do some of them .

Shorebird 11-20-2009 03:54 AM

Actually the strip tubes go really fast.....all of the strips are cut and I have 14 of the tubes sewn and cut into squares, with another 1/4 of the tubes sewn. Just started about 2 weeks ago, but I still work full time, so I only (less cuttng time) have about 5-6 hours in the sewing............it really goes FAST.........will upload some pics further down the road.

Ninnie 11-20-2009 04:16 AM

Great!!

zennia 11-20-2009 04:22 AM

Very pretty and I love the color combo. Hard to pick a favorite.

Sheree from Chicago 11-20-2009 09:41 AM

I like the first and fourth also. Good fabric choices!

QuiltyLisa 11-20-2009 03:12 PM

I totally love the brightness of them. I just made a few test blocks today also and I think I am going to love Tube blocks.

Please post a pic after you have the blocks sewn together I would love to see.

Lisa

wvdek 11-20-2009 04:42 PM

Thanks all. It is fun and addicting. So much so, that I made four different fabric blocks today. Can't show those though 'cuz they are 'secret' for you know who.

wvdek 11-20-2009 09:06 PM

Ok, got those four blocks sewn together with the sashing and I love it! Hmm, may have to keep this one.
Tom. have to get more batting, sew on binding, and I think I will quilt by hand this time.

After this one is done, I will work on the one I posted pics for. Because of T-day and company coming, I won't do that one until next weekend.

Nite all.

sharon b 11-20-2009 09:30 PM

sdeaaz 11-27-2009 04:20 PM

what size ruler did you use to cut the triangles... I had a little trouble with mine... I only have a 6x24 " ruler.... some of my points got blunted.... quilter1234
