Gorgeous! Love the purple. Quilting is beautiful!

ClydeneC 06-20-2012 06:49 PM

Is that hand embroidery or machine? Either way it is beautiful!!

mldulac 06-20-2012 07:44 PM

Beautiful!! I think you did an awesome job.

MimiBug123 06-20-2012 09:50 PM

Since you're not happy with it, I'll send you my address! The purple is such an unexpected change from the usual wintery colors. Whoever receives this is a lucky camper!

buddy'smom 06-21-2012 03:38 AM

Thanks everyone, it's all hand embroidered.

You had better love it-it's gorgeous! I have all the blocks appliqued for the same quilt, but in blue. I love how you really went outside the box with the colors. It is very special!!!

This response made me chuckle to myself! Anyhow, I think it is gorgeous. I think we are our own worse critics. I love that your stepped away from the traditional red/green combos and used the purple. Your should be proud of achieving such a wonderful piece of art! Thanks for sharing. And, by the way, if you still find you don't really care for it and ediedarlene also decides she no longer likes it, I will love and cherish it forever!!! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much, I LOVE purple and the shinny floss looks so cool.

...or...we could draw lots

...or ...flip a coin? heads i win, tails you lose? :))

it is a wonderful quilt!

buddy'smom 06-23-2012 05:39 PM

You'd win either way, haha!!!! I was told I can only enter one quilt into each category, this is not good. I would have to go with the blue storybook snowmen or enter the other in my daughter;s name??

Absolutely love love that quilt. I have the over the river pattern also and want to make it in black & whites for my son's black sleigh bed. Maybe we could collaborate?

buddy'smom 09-12-2012 03:18 PM

That would be great, my over the river is at the quilters right now, can't wait to get it back. Mine is in black/whites and I used a flannel for the backing.
