What could happen is that you can use all the remaining triangles to make half square triangles and a neat looking scrappy quilt!

so I made 3 more.... This is fun with all these different fabrics. I used a 5 inch square. (4 patch) then used 61/2 for big square

Bevanger 03-04-2010 12:56 PM

Hey I have the beginnings of a happy scrappy quilt

Quilter7x 03-04-2010 12:57 PM

I love it! You could even play with the lights and darks and put a pinwheel in the middle.

quazyquilter 03-04-2010 01:02 PM

It's so much fun to play....

It's funny, we quilters see things in living color, and isn't that a wonderful thing....And Bevanger, that's how some of these new techniques are showing up, I say, KEEP PLAYING! who knows, you might be one of our next designers...

LOL you silly! You're looking at it on your table and I'm looking at it in a picture. I often take pictures of people's quilt tops in my digital camera at Midnight Quilters classes so they can see what they look like through a camera or in a picture. It really does make a big difference.

Waiting on more pictures from you, tap, tap, tap ...

 :D

Notorious? Me?

 I'm glad I'm sewing again. I kinda got in a slump of not wanting to sew with my flower faces, then I got sick with a bad cold and believe me its not easy sewing or cutting fabs with your nose running all over everything. EEEEEEWWWWW! So played ALOT of games lol

Barb_MO 03-04-2010 02:12 PM

Bevanger, doing this block the way you are doesn't that make all the outsides of the block on the bias? Might be very hard to sew your block together if that is true.

Sharon M 03-04-2010 02:24 PM

so glad to see you are back at the sewing machine, Bev! :D
Keep those scappy quilts and pictures comming.

quiltsRfun 03-04-2010 04:09 PM

This is what makes quilting so fun. I can almost see the lightbulb going on above your head.

tlrnhi 03-04-2010 04:38 PM

Awesome idea to cut the quilt blocks! What a cool trick, thanks for sharing!

It is fun to learn from others on this board.

With me being disabled I SOMETIMES don't understand patterns, so I make them up alot

:-D

coffeegirl 09-02-2010 08:37 AM

That is very cute, but be careful. You now have a block with bias edges!

AlienQuilter 09-02-2010 09:40 AM

Neat idea!

How about spray starch or doing a stay stitch 1/8" from edge of blocks to control distortion (if it becomes a problem).

belmer 09-02-2010 10:13 AM

Great way to get back in the swing of sewing again. GREAT Idea!
