My first thing is to get a belt replacement and learn more about the machine.

I do belong to a yahoo group for treadle and old sewing machines, but haven't paid too much attention to it lately. guess it would be a good source of info and perhaps supplies.

I'm hoping the manual I ordered will offer some how to info on this baby. She doesn't have a name yet...I'm still thinking about it.

I bet Billy (Lostn51) would be able to supply you with a belt. Lovely machine, I wish I had a treadle

I recently acquired a Minnesota Model A treadle. Needs a new belt, but I got her (Minny) to sew a nice stitch last night by turning the wheel by hand. I'm going to try to wind the bobbin next before I put any money into her. Good luck with your machine. Did you try ebay for a manual?

The thread spool actually flips back, slip spool on then flip forward. I've got a 1913 that looks and feels like cast iron-hope to get it cleaned up soon.

I have a Wheeler Wilson 1890 #9 in the table my DH bought for my birthday years ago. It has a wooden cover that fits over the machine. It works great, I made my very first quilt, a sampler, with it the year I got it. The machine is in much better shape than the quilt, that passed away. I hope you enjoy your machine as much as I do. Also the Wheeler Wilson was before Singer, Singer actually bought out Wheeler Wilson and changed the name to singer, it what I was told.
