For $5!! In pristine condition, all hand sewn, quilting marks in pencil on one corner. Any suggestions on how to get them out?
PS - that is a Queen size bed it is shown on. |
What a wonderful find, congrats.

It is so good of you to rescue this quilt that someone worked on for so long. I don't have a clue how to get rid of the pencil marks, other than trying to erase them. The good thing is if you can't get them out, you can think about replacing that outer border. There are a lot of pretty fabrics that would look good there.

Wow, you got lucky!

Lovely find. I would try a white pencil eraser if you get no other responses in this thread.

beautiful!!!! Lucky you!! i'm jealous you got such a wonderful find, and for pennies no less.
Have you tried an eraser? I know it takes forever, but it might work for you. good luck, let us see it when it's quilted. will you hand quilt it or machine quilt it? |
How lucky you are to find that lovely quilt. My DM used to mark her hand sewn quilts with that way and used a white eraser to take it off however if it has been there a long time I don't know if it will work. I would use a Q tip and Hydrogen Peroxide on the marks making sure you don't get any on the colored fabric it works pretty well on most things I have used it on.

Great find. But the bigger question is, is this where all my sewing stuff will end up? I mean really? Hand sewn with great care for $5.
