Does anyone know what the name of this pattern is? Do you know if it is appliqued? Thanks for your help!

Let's name it Wonky Stars.
It's pieced. For each color/fabric, you have one plain block, and then four wonky two pointed blocks. It's actually a cool little design - no points to match up or have to be a specified size. Very liberating. Where'd you find it? It would make an incredibly quick and easy baby quilt. That yellow is sizzling. |
I don't understand what you mean by four wonky two pointed blocks. Can you explain?

See how each star is made up of 5 blocks - I've outlined them (very poorly) in black.
So you have the solid/plain center block. And then four blocks using white and the same fabric for the wonky points. |
Wow - great eye and illustration. I did not see that at first. Thanks.

Maybe fractured star.

Look up maverick stars on Bonnie Hunters website, I think that is what they are only bigger.
http://quiltville.com/maverickstars.shtml edit: Yep, that is what they are or very close except hers are just scrappier. Link has wonderful tutorial. |
I found this site with the same stars, although it refers to another blog for an actual tutorial. http://www.freshlemonsquilts.com/?p=1324

Thanks for bringing that one up. I've seen it before, but not made it....yet.

Interesting pattern. I like the secondary pattern that comes with it. Looks like white flowers between the stars.
Note: It's wonky but consistent. |
