i agree with others ...it is a beautiful quilt. it is a Rose of Sharon. there's many versions of the vintage pattern. when i lived in eastern PA, rose of sharon seemed to be a very popular pattern for local quilters there. there are patterns available in books & on the net.
...and welcome to the board. do you quilt? ..or just enjoy/admire them |

Welcome from Illinois. Love the pattern and was always going to make it but never have. When I lived in NJ I often spent time in PA. My sister lived in Allentown and we had lots of fun exploring the Amish areas and loved the Kutstown Fair.

Hi. Thankyou for the warm invite. I had seen this quilt last year at the Lake Erie Quilt Show. It is called Quilting on the Bayfront, from October 9 through the 13th. Beautiful quilts and you can buy finished quilts, money goes to a scholarship in the name of a young man that passed away from a car accident. I had purchased a trip around the world quilt for that scholarship.
Saw this quilt and got the nerve to come on this panel and request the pattern name, would like to dabble in appliqué. I have an interest in Sue Daley’s English paper piecing also. Live here in northeast Ohio and not a lot of interest in quilting around here, chugging on my own, hoping to make quilts to donate to the Appalachia families. It is a shame now a days that homemade items are not cherished. Looking forward to corresponding with all of you. Rose |
Welcome to the board, Rose!
