You sure have beautiful fabric in that block. Lovely choices--I like it a lot!

You are very motivating here! I saw your block and decided I'd better get with it! I made my first scrappy block tonight.
I used a page from a magazine for the foundation. Magazine paper rips very nicely and I have a ton of them! Oh, and don't forget those catalogs! I visited a while back http://quiltville.com/scrapusersystem.shtml and saw Bonnie's scrap user system. I love it! I started doing this too a few years back and it was so nice tonight to just reach in and grab a pre-cut strip and slap that baby onto the block to sew. Quick and easy! I had my first block done in about 10 minutes! Whoopee! I'm planning to do at least one every time I go into the sewing room since they are so fast and easy. Should have a quilt in no time at all! Thanks for the motivation! |
Karla, I love your idea of using the same fabric for the center piece of each block. It will tie everything together beautifully. By the way, your fabrics are beautiful!!

Great job on the block. Thanks for posting the site for strip piecing. It's in my fav's now.
