I'm usually a lurker here but posted back in January needing advice on how to finish the center circles. (You all were very helpful. Thank you !) My MIL started this quilt 30 yrs ago but didn't finish it. They moved last summer and some of her things ended up in my basement. One of the things was the box that had the unfinished quilt in it. We were planning a big family party for her 80th B-Day so I figured that finishing the quilt would be the perfect present.

I finished the day before the party :) I think she is thankful that it is finished and that she wasn't the one to finish it !

No, No picture of her wrapped up in it. But she does have it on her bed. They just moved in July and bought new bedding then so I thought for sure she would just fold it and put it on a chair in their room or fold it for the bottom of the bed.

It is hard to take over where someone left off, but I was lucky. MIL was very detailed with what she did then (not so much now

 ) Everything was already cut and ready to go. She had all the plates pieced, and half of them already made into blocks. I just had to make the other half into blocks and piece it all together. She was able to cut a really straight line so piecing it all together went pretty well.
