National Parks panel
3 Attachment(s)
I fell in love with this big (72”x54”) Riley Blake panel. I just did some outline quilting and some echoing so I left the “postcards” to shine. I used a Quilter’s Dream wool batting, quilted the top with So Fine 50 wt, and did the binding by machine using a serpentine stitch In King Tut 40 wt. This will be my personal lap quilt in our motorhome. Seems appropriate, right?

I think it’s prefect for your travels. It really looks nice. I haven’t seen this panel before and it’s a nice size, too.

Perfect for a road quilt! Lovely job. 👍

Perfect quilt for your camping days...and nights! Perhaps you will get to visit each park. Fun!

Very nice! I haven't seen that panel either...will have to do some searching.....

Oldest grandson would love this since his goal is to visit as many NP’s as he can. We gave him a NP passport So he gets it stamped at each one. Very nice !

My husband and I have bought a camper van and when I saw your quilt I got online and ordered a panel. We hope to visit as
many National Parks as we can. Cute quilt and thanks for sharing with info on panel. |

I had to count the number of parks represented hahaha. That just means I took a close look at the parks included. I love this panel. lovely! thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for the idea. We go to Yellowstone almost every 5 yrs (had reservations for this year but postponed til next) but in 2021 our son and family are caravaning with us across country to see other National Parks along the way and back. Our grandson (now 7) is so excited about mapping the route and ticking off the states and parks he hasn't seen yet. I just finished making him a quilt for Christmas, but will make this panel lap quilt for the family for next Christmas. Thanks again.

I love this panel. I bought it about a week ago as a gift for my husband. It's currently hiding in my sewing room until i can get it completed. He and his family did the national park trips back when he was younger, and we are planning on getting a C-class and hitting them ourselves https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png. I also grabbed the smaller panel with the US map on it. I plan on working that one into the back somehow.

That looks great!

Very nice quilt. We don't camp or travel. Easier to stay home with cat, parakeet and two small dogs. Plus I am directionally challenged. GPS confuses me as she tells me too many times to turn somewhere. Best for us to stay home.

You did a great job, Pam! I also love that panel. The vintage posters have a nostalgic appeal. What is the overall size?
