Navy quilt for my son update

4 Attachment(s)
Here is the layout of my sons' navy quilt. I had an medical emergency last weekend, then got news that following Monday that my uncle was found dead at his home in Illinois. He was killed. Kinda through me for a loop and could not do any quilting all week. So here we go. It glue based and ready for quilting. It has the Ronald Reagan (aircraft carrier), John Paul Jones (guided missile destroyer) and USS Cleveland (amphibious transport dock) all which he served on. I also put some of the places he has toured during his sea duty. The quilt almost cover the top of my King Cal bed. Did not intend to make it this big. What do you think?

I have two nephews in the Australian Navy and I would be proud to have made them something like this.
Lovely. Hooked me totally when I read "Brisbane, Australia" especially as we just moved to Queensland 12 mths ago (Brisbane is the capitol of Queensland for those who don't know)

Navy wife (retired 4/1) here. I've seen those career quilts before, and yours is really nice.

May I ask where you got the Navy Fabric, with the ships and patches on it?

Very very nice quilt. He will treasure it. And I don't think it'll be too big. Many people have king beds now. I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle.

It was given to me by my supervisor a couple of years ago. Just happen to be in Hobby Lobby last week and found more there. It is called "United We Stand" by Robert Kaufman. Screen Print D#8696.
