For me, the light and dark green are neck-in-neck and then teh burgundy.
Arte we helping or hindering? |
I think the burgandy makes them stand out. The lighter colors they kind of blend into. Just my opinion.
|
Personally I like the dark green and a different burgandy. I was just in a JoAnn's and didn't see any burgandy. Is there LQS near? May cost more but sometimes......The lights blend in to much with all the squares. Good Luck I know no matter what you choose it'll be yours and it'll be great!!!!

Now that I can see some more - I like the burgundy and the yellow... are you thinking of adding a border, If so, what are you considering? If you use the yellow as background the burgundy would make a nice narrow border to frame them with a wider yellow border or the original fabric.

I personally like the rust (red?) in your block. But I like the light green a lot also.
|
I don't know. I still like the light green. The burgundy definitely makes all the burgundy jump out of the fabric, but, I agree, that burgundy is dull. The gold, you lose some of the blocks in there. Too close to the same color. You didn't put dark green back up there so can't comment on that.
I still like the light green. But, this is YOUR quilt, and you need to pick what best suits you. What color do you like? |
okay ... this is probably because I don't trust myself around "light and airy" ... but, I think that burgundy background just is wonderful!
There is so much light in your blocks, they need something solid behind them to really make them pop - - but, I may be a bit prejudiced by the bad experiences I have had with light colored things ... you know ? As in if I am wearing white, the manure spreader is going to break! LOL And, I do tend to enjoy things that are substantive in their presentation, so I just don't know that I am being any help at all. |
Still lovin the burgundy.

Personally, I like them all, and would consider making a 9patch-like background. For instance, do one background color for all the squares in a left-top to right-bottom direction, then another for the right-top to left-bottom (the center block could be either one). Then a 3rd color along the inner V of the top and bottom, and middle of sides. The 4th color could be the middle of the top and bottom, and inner V of the sides. Does that make any sense to anyone?!? I have a very vivid image in my head, but don't think I am describing it well. Oh, well...
No matter what you decide, it is going to be a FABULOUS quilt! Great job!!! |
