I think a solid border would be best, anything else will compete with the center of the quilt taking away focus from the main part of the quilt, lessening the effect of the pretty colors in the center.

Perfect just the way you show it!

I think I would but a more scrappy border on............ even 6" crazy square blocks with 2" black strips around the blocks and do the binding is random colors. Hope we get to see the finished quilt what ever you decide to do for the border.
Good Luck |
I would go for a red border and then use your black for the binding maybe. The idea of a red flange is good also. I am afraid that your black/gold border is too busy for your quilt. The red in the quilt is sort of a medium sized print and would help to tie things together while calming it down a little, despite the bright color. IMHO, Carly in SC

I like it, it allows the center to shine instead of competing. I'd love to find some of that fabric for myself! Beautiful quilt!!

At first I thought I saw that the whole border was the leaf print but as I looked closer, I can see that you are planning a thin black border, a wider leaf border with the circles and then a final black border? I think that works! Happy quilting.

I actually like this border with the quilt. The main blocks have a Japanese "feel" to them in this photo, so the bamboo leaf border is completely appropriate.

The border fights with the center. I would choose something simpler to frame and enhance the center.

Nope...go with something else. Really like the rest of the quilt top

I kind of like it with the blocks inserted randomly to tie it all in together. You do have black and gold in your quilt. Very artistic and pretty!
