very nice. i agree with the dark gray if you want to see the quilting or a lighter color to blend in.

It is beautiful I love batiks. I would use grey thread and stitch in the ditch will work Although I love the idea of variegated thread also If you havent done stippling try it out on something else before you do this quilt

My 16yr old granddaughter wants this quilt she likes bright colors. Thank ya any more advise would be gladly appreciated.

You could use most any colour. The variegateds can create a different look.

As suggested above, I'd take into account the backing colour when deciding on the thread colour. And too, your 16 yo DGD ... if she has a favourite colour, you just might want to use it!

I love scrappy quilts. Your quilt is nice and bright. I find with each quilt I learn and fine tune my piecing and quilting skills. You are on the right track! Keep up the good work:)

What colour does your granddaughter want? My 15 year old always has definite ideas on everything including what colour thread :)

I would coordinate the thread with the backing.

Whats your DGD favorite color??? use that and those blocks with that color will 'POP' too then could bind with that color too. So will be definitively her quilt.
