on which fabics to use on my next quilt. I want to make the "Summer in the Park" quilt from a youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=J5WgTyqB8Pc
I can either go with a white fabric or the multicolored fabric.
Oh, it's for a baby quilt. So, I'm not sure of the white. lol
Thanks,
Kathleen

I like the color with it!

Daisygirl 09-09-2011 04:37 PM

I like the second set, its light and cheery

tinliz 09-09-2011 04:42 PM

I vote for the multicolored fabric.

wartime jane 09-09-2011 04:45 PM

That's tough! I like both.

My baby blanket was all white. I don't remember it staining. It was well loved. :)

wuv2quilt 09-09-2011 04:45 PM

I vote for the 2nd set:)

Cyn 09-09-2011 04:47 PM

2nd one :)

Ngeorgia 09-09-2011 04:52 PM

I vote #2 also. It seems like too many colors for the design to come out even. I see the pattern as 3 prints and white(or something light) that divides the print.

leatheflea 09-09-2011 04:54 PM

I say step outside the box and go with black! Or you could do both! You never know until you try!

ilovetosew 09-09-2011 05:51 PM

I like the first group of fabrics.

Nettie Phillips 09-09-2011 06:18 PM

I like the first one.

angiecub 09-09-2011 06:47 PM

I think the multicolored fabric is too dark for the brights, so I like #2.

maine ladybug 09-09-2011 06:54 PM

For a baby blanket I would go with the white.

Cherylsea 09-09-2011 06:58 PM

We seem to be evenly divided! I like the multi print.

isnthatodd 09-09-2011 06:59 PM

I like the first one.

SWEETPEACHES 09-09-2011 07:02 PM

I like the one with white

crkathleen 09-09-2011 08:15 PM

lol it is evenly divided.

Shirlrh 09-09-2011 08:24 PM

Color will be gorgeous. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

Willa 09-09-2011 08:24 PM

Don't like the first one at all. The second reminds me of a rainbow in the clouds. If it wasn't going to be for a baby I would have to agree with a previous poster and suggest black as that would make your colors pop, but not for baby quilt as black would show dirt real bad.

cjsparks 09-09-2011 08:41 PM

first

Ditto on it being too dark for the rest of your fabrics. I would go with the white or maybe an off white!

I like the white....I did the "Summer in the Park" the bright colors are like walking thru the park with all the flowers in bloom...and sure looks cheery for a baby's quilt

BizzieLizzie 09-10-2011 12:20 AM

I like them both and if I was making the blanket for myself I would choose the multicolour fabric. You need to go with what you like because you are going to have to work with it for a time before it is ready to be given away. Please post pictures of completed quilt! Love the colours!

Rose L 09-10-2011 12:24 AM

#2 for a baby quilt.

Yooper32 09-10-2011 02:39 AM

I don't think that that particular print goes well with the bright colors, or maybe it is just that I plain don't like that print at all.

happynana 09-10-2011 02:52 AM

I don't think I would use white for a baby quilt, but thats just me. I really like the multicolor print with the other fabric.

sewdarnbusy 09-10-2011 02:56 AM

I love the white, especially for a baby.

QuiltnNan 09-10-2011 04:57 AM

i vote for the color

You could consider option #3 and use the fabrics in #2 minus the white.

deedum 09-10-2011 05:07 AM

I like the first.

Chicca 09-10-2011 05:26 AM

I like the first set. Keep us informed.

dallen4350 09-10-2011 05:53 AM

I always think of the Summer in the Park pattern as light and airy. So I would go with the white.
