Yes, small yellow first and then wider red. Love the fabric. My DH is retired firefighter and your quilt is giving me thoughts on one for him. Be sure to post picture when you finish.

I'd suggest 2 narrow borders of yellow and red, then a wider border of black, with black binding.

yellow. The black makes the whole thing disapear and the red really doesn't compliment it.

First choice would be yellow and then red.

The yellow will spark the black background and the red will tie it all in nicely.

I would use "fire engine" red.
